FEMA Qualification
Register for a FEMA student ID number. After you have one, you will be able to sign up not just for the independent study course IS100 but a whole bunch of different emergency management courses including training at your county emergency management office. To get your FEMA Student ID go to FEMA Student Identification (SID) System click the button below. and select register for student ID. Maybe you got one a long time ago and have forgotten it, you can also select forgot my id and retrieve it. Go thought the required questions and at the end of it you will be sent your ID Number. This ID is required to get into FEMA Funded Training events around the country and online.
After you have your FEMA Student Id number, you can go to the FEMA Emergency Management Insitute website at FEMA - Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Course | IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, to sign take the IS100 Intro to ICS. You will then select the "Take Interactive Course" that will take you around 2 hours. After you complete all the modules of the course, you then select the "Take Final Exam."
After you have taken the test and got an 80% you will be emailed your completions certificate. That is what you will need to upload into your profile.
