Small Animal Emergency Sheltering Course
Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC), in partnerships with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services & the Florida State Agriculture Response Team (www.FLSART.org) and Desoto County Emergency Management are pleased to offer a Grant Funded Awareness Level 1 Small Animal Disaster and Emergency Sheltering class for all of Desoto, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco and surrounding Counties.
This Awareness Level (Level 1) class will give you the knowledge, expertise and practical experience you need to work in an emergency/evacuation animal/pet shelter.
This course is also required to become a deployment member of FL SARC’s incident response team.
FEMA Approved: This course meets the standards set by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Certified/Accredited by the Florida Department of Emergency Management.
Classes are open to the public but State, County, City employees will be given attendance preference.
